LOST and FOUND #26 (Permanent Collection - The Caravaggio Museum)
Permanent Collection - The Caravaggio Museum - “Museo La Contea Del Caravaggio”- Sicily, Italy
In LOST and FOUND #26, Karmin transforms simple dyed wooden reeds—each originally straight—into a vibrant dance of color and movement. Meticulously twisted, curled, spiraled, and shaped by hand, every element is carefully placed to create a dynamic composition that feels both organic and alive. At the heart of this series is inspiration drawn from Irish Master Wood Carver Glenn Lucas. Witnessing the delicate spiral shavings falling from his lathe, Karmin began collecting these once-discarded wood curls—shavings that were "lost"—and "found" a new purpose for them within her art.
Measuring 24 inches wide, 20 inches high, and 7.5 inches deep, this unique wall sculpture can be displayed either vertically or horizontally, offering versatility in any space. Whenever possible, reclaimed wood is used for the base, adding another layer of sustainability to the piece. Each sculpture is finished with a protective UV spray, though it's recommended to avoid hanging it in direct sunlight to preserve its vibrant colors.
